A family session at Good Dog Studio is an hour of just being together - no screens, no schedule, no one looking at their phone. The kids will probably be feral for at least five minutes. The dog will definitely do something unexpected. That's usually when we get the best ones.

What family mini-sessions looks like
We plan before you arrive.

You'll get a prep guide before your session - what to wear, what to expect, how to set your family up for the best possible result. We do the thinking so you just have to show up.
30–45 minutes, not four hours

Sessions are focused and efficient. Kids stay happy. Dogs stay engaged. Everyone goes home before anyone loses their mind. That's the point of planning properly.

Our light-filled Bowral studio. Clean backgrounds, controlled light, no weather dependence. Perfect for newborns, young children, and dog portraits where consistency matters.

On location in the Southern Highlands during golden hour. The light is extraordinary, the landscape is the backdrop, and the images feel like this place. Weather-dependent - we'll reschedule if needed

WHAT TO BRING.
How to prepare.
FOR FAMILY SESSIONS
→ Wear tones that sit in the same palette - think warm neutrals, forest greens, earthy tones. Avoid bright white, patterns and neons.
→ Come as you are. Don't over-dress. The images should look like your family, not a performance of your family.
→ For young kids - a favourite toy or comfort object is fine. Snacks and drink bottle. We work around them, not against them.
→ For sunset sessions - check the weather the day before. We'll reschedule for free if conditions aren't right.
